United States Postal Service (USPS)

Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

Important tax documents are often mailed, so contact the IRS and notify them of your new address.

Social Security Administration

If you are receiving Social Security benefits which can include retirement, disability, Medicare, survivor benefits and supplemental security income contact them to update your address. https://www.ssa.gov/personal-record/update-contact-information

Veterans Affairs (VA)

If you are a veteran or member of the military contact the VA to update your contact information.

Utility Companies

Contact the utility companies you currently have an account with to arrange for service to be disconnected at your current location and started at your new home. Others to contact are phone companies, trash and recycling services, home security company, streaming services and cable and internet service providers.

Banks & Financial Institutions

Contact all banks and financial institutions to change your address. This can include your bank, mortgage company, credit card provider, financial advisors, accountants and retirement and investment accounts.

Insurance Providers

Contact homeowners, rental, auto, life, medical, dental, and other insurance providers to give them your new address. If you own a home or carry rental insurance, you will need to update your policy for the new location.

Your Employer

Give your new address to your employer, they will need to change your address for payroll and human resources purposes.

Subscription Services

Change your subscription service address as soon as you move to prevent packages, magazines and newspapers from being delivered to the wrong address. Don’t forget about online businesses you order from like Amazon, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, PetSmart and food delivery services.

Mobile Apps

Update your contact information in the mobile apps you use like security camera services, smart home appliance apps, payment apps and transportation and navigation apps.

Medical Providers

Contact your doctor’s office, pediatrician, dentist, optical clinic and veterinarian and update your address.
